Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef 85/15
  • 1 large head green cabbage leaves separated
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or almond flour
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3–4 minutes until pliable.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, and seasonings. Mix gently.
  3. Place 1/3 cup meat mix in each cabbage leaf. Fold and roll like a wrap.
  4. Place seam-side down in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Whisk tomato sauce, Worcestershire, honey, and mustard for sauce. Pour over burgers.
  6. Cover with foil and bake 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 more minutes for browning.
